CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

WELCOME TO PINE HAVEN, WYOMING
IN STEP WITH PROGRESS

Rhythm & Ribs Festival 2010

The Pine Haven Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce our music program for this years Rhythm and Ribs Festival fundraiser. We will be “moving with Country and Western” and have some amazing artists to announce for you from Wyoming, California and Montana. Our own local group-- Chancey Williams and The Younger Brothers, Wyoming Artist Roster representatives Prickly Pear and The Cactus Chorale, Way Out West from Montana, and special appearance by the DOO WAH Riders from California. They will be on stage under the Big Tent, a new addition to this year's festival. Last year's festival was a Real, Big, Success. With festival attendance eclipsing close to 1,000 people last year, we hope to draw more people to this year's festival. We are making few changes to our event, and have adopted what we feel is a great, value-driven strategy, providing a reasonable admission and allowing children 12 and under to be admitted free. We feel this strategy was well received by the public last year, and gratifying to us, especially given the fact that we’re just 2 years-old this year as an event.

Our county-wide reputation as providing a respected summer music festival has helped give the town of Pine Haven a cultural identity. We work to build strong economic ties with the Northeast Wyoming business community and individual donors. We have developed a large volunteer network of people that help out at the festival and at our other year-round events. This year the festival will have craft and merchandise vendors, fun for the kids, as well as the ever popular Taste of Ribs. A raffle prize, valued at approximately $300.00 will be drawn for those individuals buying early bird tickets.

We still have sponsorship spots available. Call Dottie Taylor 307-756-3256, Stephanie Rolfson 307-756-2740, or Bob Suchor on 307-756-3817 to be included in this opportunity.

2009

Thank You!!!

Everybody either likes to eat or has to eat, and the combination of great ribs, the cream of Wyoming music delivered by some world-class Wyoming artists: Marky B, The Cambria String Band, Jeff Troxel and Chancey Williams and The Younger Brothers, made the 1st annual Keyhole Rhythm and Ribs Festival a very special experience for locals and tourists alike. The festival drew people from the local area as well as attendees from all over North Eastern Wyoming and beyond to enjoy the festival.

Thank you to our generous sponsors for adding their support to the 2009 Keyhole Rhythm and Ribs Festival: Crook County Promotion Board, Keyhole Technologies, Keyhole Ranch, Basin Radio Network, Paintbrush Services, KBFSAM, KYDTFM, Pokey’s BarBque & Smokehouse, Victory Inc. and Larry’s Mining. The Chamber gratefully acknowledges their support.

Special thanks to our many local Chamber members and community volunteers for coming forward to help do all of the little and big things that made the festival fun and valuable for the attendees. The volunteer experience always proves challenging and rewarding.

THANK YOU to Paradise Foods and the Pine Haven Supper Club for the (and they really were) “Best in the West” ribs; the R Place for providing the beverage tent and helping, along with others, Crook County Cares with security.

As both a volunteer and attendee, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and deeply appreciated the wonderful support that our community and surrounding neighbors extended to the festival. We made lemonade!

PRESS RELEASE

As the summer finally begins to act the part, Pine Haven Chamber of Commerce will add to the heat with its first year Keyhole Rhythm and Ribs Music Festival, featuring two bands and one solo artist and others in a beautiful setting located off Pine Haven Road overlooking Keyhole Reservoir and the mountains beyond. This year’s festival will be August 1, 2009, from 3:00 p.m. until midnight. Gates open at 2:00 pm.

Drivers making their way down Pine Haven Road will note the tents, outdoor stage and vendor areas going up in back of Paradise Foods. The site of the festival is a simple cleared expanse of land with green undergrowth and the sky above. It’s a festival, with the standing (bring your own lawn chairs—limited seating), the baking in the sun and port’o lets.

The Festival will showcase a diverse lineup of musical talent, including artists representing a wide variety of music genres spanning bluegrass, country, 60’s rock, jazz and folk. This year’s lineup brings musicians from all around Wyoming to Pine Haven to perform at the Festival. There will be a few familiar faces on stage, our local home group Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band from Moorcroft. This group puts on an exciting stage show playing everything from 60’s rock to new country hits, including their own music. The Cambria String Band out of Newcastle, an amazing group that will be bringing some of the finest “soft rock” bluegrass music anywhere; and solo artist Jeff Troxel, national guitar flatpicking champion from Cody. Troxel is a prominent guitarist, composer and songwriter, and has performed and toured with some of the world’s finest musicians. Also Marky B our own Tiny Piney artist, who with an impromptu gathering of others, will start off the day. These artists should keep the energy very high.

The Pine Haven Supper Club and Paradise Foods will be serving up classic American BBQ Kansas Style Ribs with other offerings from the venerable hot dog and chips with plenty of sides to round out the menu. As you begin to sizzle come relax and sip a cold beer, pop or water under the tent at the R Place Beer Gardens.

Tickets are $8 advance sales or $10 at the gates. Children 12 and under are free. Advance tickets can be purchased in Pine Haven at R Place, The Anchor Bar, Pine Haven Supper Club, Paradise Foods and Keyhole Country Club; in Moorcroft at Diehl’s Supermarket; in Upton at Joe’s Food Center; in Gillette at Pokey’s BarBque and Smokehouse; in Sundance at Conoco Rapid Stop. Also Pine Haven Chamber of Commerce members and Ridge Realty will have tickets.

The Pine Haven Chamber of Commerce is the organizer for the event while our sponsors—Keyhole Ranch, Keyhole Technologies, Paintbrush Services, Victory Inc., Basin Radio Network, Pokey’s BarBque & Smokehouse, KBFS AM, and KYDT FM are also adding their support to the festival. The Chamber gratefully acknowledges these sponsors for their munificent support.

Information on area campsites and opportunities to sleep under the stars is available at www.pinehavenchamber.org. Moorcroft, Sundance and Gillette have plenty of area hotels and motels all within 40 miles of Pine Haven. For more information contact Dottie Taylor 307-756-3256 or email dottaylor@att.net.
