CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

WELCOME TO PINE HAVEN, WYOMING
IN STEP WITH PROGRESS

DATE HAS NOT YET BEEN SET FOR 2012

Keyhole Rhythm & Ribs Facebook Event Page

The Pine Haven Chamber of Commerce is excited about announcing the 3rd Annual Rhythm and Ribs Music Festival and this year’s amazing artists. The event will begin on Friday evening, August 5th, at 7:00 pm, with Way Out West on stage for some country dancing. The Festival will again be "rocking with Country and Western" on Saturday, August 6th, from Noon to Midnight, with artists from Wyoming, Tennessee and Colorado.
Headlining again this year is our local favorite, Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band. Also representing Wyoming, and a crowd pleaser from 2009, is the Cambria String Band from Newcastle. Nashville artists, Copper Hollow, who break the typical Nashville mold, incorporate some Rock & Soul in their distinctive edge to a new country sound. This year’s MC is a Colorado cowboy, Gary McMahan and with his band, The Spur of the Moment, will keep the spectators entertained between performances.
Chancey Williams & The Younger Brothers Band
began with humble beginnings, out of a love of country music and an ingrained desire to perform and entertain. They started by playing a few songs at their high school talent show. Lead singer and acoustic guitarist, Chancey Williams, and drummer, Travis DeWitt, knew that this is what they were meant to do after just those few songs. The band started to play for weddings and small fairs and rodeos, and before they knew it, they were opening for their hero, Chris LeDoux, at the Montana State Fair in front of 8,000 people. That experience gave them a taste of what was to come, and they continued to hone their craft playing at bars all through the Midwestern states, from Montana and South Dakota, to Nevada and Colorado. The band expanded in 2008, adding the amazing harmonies and smooth picking of Wyatt Springsteen on lead guitar, and also adding a third part to their great harmonies with Brooke Latka on fiddle. The band also added Dugan Hughes on bass guitar in 2009. The combination of all of these musicians makes for a rowdy and raucous stage show that is sure to be remembered. The band also released their 2nd studio album, "Honky Tonk Road" last year. The CD is also available on iTunes and on CDBaby.com. Playing over 170 shows a year for the last two years, the band has created quite a following while sharing the stage with such acts as Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Craig Morgan, Rodney Atkins, Phil Vassar, Chris Cagle, Stoney Larue, and Robert Earl Keen.
Cambria String Band
The Cambria String Band was formed in 2005 and is made up of three members. Pete Wouden from Rapid City plays the upright string bass, banjo, and mandolin and has been playing and performing with various bands around the area for 20 years. Doug Thomas from Blackhawk, S.D., who plays the acoustic guitar, has also been performing for the public for many years. Larry Roetzel, from Newcastle Wyoming, who is the 2007 Wyoming State Banjo Champion, has been perfecting his playing and singing for 30 years. All three men sing both lead and backup vocals, providing dynamic three-part harmonies.
The word "Cambria" came from the name of a booming coal mining town in the 1930’s in northeast Wyoming, now a deserted ghost town. The band has appeared at the Dahl Fine Arts Center in Rapid City, SD, performed community concerts for the Weston County Concert Association, and the Hot Springs Community Concert Association, played at bluegrass festivals all over Wyoming as well as the Black Hills Bluegrass Festival, in South Dakota, where they do gospel sets. They
performed two years at the Wyoming State BBQ Championship, where an ad for the event and their name was printed on Pepsi products in five states. They have performed live broadcasts for the "Heritage of the American West" syndicated radio show out of Spearfish, SD.
Their style of music has been labeled ‘soft rock bluegrass’, performing songs from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today. The genres of country, bluegrass, rock, folk, gospel and blues are all performed with a bluegrass flair and a fresh, new twist.
An added plus to their act is their ‘off the cuff’ comedy between songs, telling personal stories of growing up in the Black Hills area. Recently they were proclaimed by a regional music critic to be ‘the premier bluegrass band’ in the Rapid City, SD area.
Danny Lee Dunn and  his band, Copper Hollow, brings his own unique blend of contemporary country, rock and soul to the stage.  Dunn has developed his sound through performing live, and honing his craft of songwriting for more than a decade.

Dunn is preceded by three generations of musicians and songwriters. His earliest musical influences were his parents, grandfather and uncles who had all been involved in songwriting and performing in the Nashville music scene.

Around the age of 12, he began writing his own songs, learning the basics of various musical instruments and experimenting in the recording studio. As time passed, this passion grew stronger and his musical skills and appreciation, of all genres, continued to develop throughout his high school years. Dunn sang in the choir, performed in talent shows and even started a (short-lived) grunge-rock garage band. His heart never strayed from his Country roots.

Other members of Copper Hollow are Rochelle Dunn (vocals), Jimmy Hudson (lead guitar), Rob Facelli (bass, vocals), and Stony Ferguson (drums).
Å@
Gary is known for his award-winning songs, captivating stories, uproarious humor, and national championship yodeling. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Garth Brooks, Ian Tyson, Chris LeDoux, Riders in the Sky, Dave Stamey, and Juni Fisher. His songs, stories, and poems embody what many believe to be the heart of the new West.
Gary comes by his cowboy heritage naturally. He was born into it and has ridden, wrangled, and roped all over the West, all the while collecting reflections on cowboy ways. Those reflections are the backbone of all his songs, stories, and poems.
Band: Spur of the Moment
Spur of The Moment is a top 40 country music show band. They have played music together for 16 years in venues all over the State of Colorado. Band members have opened for such acts as Shanandoa, Little Texas, Sammy Kershaw, Three Dog Night, and Exile. As a group they have opened for David Allen-Coe, The Bellamy Bros, Buddy Jewell and Ricochet. They are a 5-piece band with high energy and amazing vocal abilities. The members are Dave Means (lead vocals & guitar) Rod Ham (lead vocals-keyboard-guitar) Don Schilling (steel guitar-banjo-guitar) Eric Lonn (lead vocals bass guitar-rhythm guitar) and Sam Toman (lead vocals-drums)
Spur of the Moment tours all over Colorado, performing at large night clubs street dances and Rodeos throughout the year. They  specialize in music that tops the country music charts as well as plenty of classic rock hits by Skynard, The Doobie Brothers, and The Eagles. They were recently nominated for Vocal Band of the Year and Best Country Band of the Year by the Colorado Country Music Association.
Way Out West
Way Out West is a rockin’ country band based out of southeastern Montana. They believe you should be able to go out dancing and listen to great country music, and party to great rock classics. The band offers a wide variety of music including new and classic country, blues, rock, original songs, and fun 50's and 60's party hits. They have played together for 12 years and have had the opportunity to open for BR549 and Elizabeth Cook. Way Out West currently plays in Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota and Colorado. The bank consists of Tom Minow (guitars and vocals), Amny Minow (vocals and keys), Cap Williams (bass and vocals), Brandon Ackerman (drums) and Rich Ruland (lead guitar and vocals).

EVENT HISTORY BELOW FROM 2009 & 2010

Rhythm & Ribs Festival 2010 Saturday, August 7th

A special thank you from the Keyhole Rhythm and Ribs Music Festival committees to all those who helped and to all those who participated.

The 2nd annual event was deemed a great success with an attendance of more than 1,000 people.

The "under the tent" event was great and the shows of Way Out West, the Prickly Pair and the Cactus Chorale, the Doo-Wah Riders, and Pine Haven's adopted band of Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers, received rave reviews.

Pine Haven's Chamber of Commerce says THANK YOU and we hope to see you all again next year!!

The Pine Haven Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce our music program for this years Rhythm and Ribs Festival fundraiser. We will be “moving with Country and Western” and have some amazing artists to announce for you from Wyoming, California and Montana. Our own local group-- Chancey Williams and The Younger Brothers, Wyoming Artist Roster representatives Prickly Pear and The Cactus Chorale, Way Out West from Montana, and special appearance by the DOO WAH Riders from California. They will be on stage under the Big Tent, a new addition to this year's festival. Last year's festival was a Real, Big, Success. With festival attendance eclipsing close to 1,000 people last year, we hope to draw more people to this year's festival. We are making few changes to our event, and have adopted what we feel is a great, value-driven strategy, providing a reasonable admission and allowing children 12 and under to be admitted free. We feel this strategy was well received by the public last year, and gratifying to us, especially given the fact that we’re just 2 years-old this year as an event.

Our county-wide reputation as providing a respected summer music festival has helped give the town of Pine Haven a cultural identity. We work to build strong economic ties with the Northeast Wyoming business community and individual donors. We have developed a large volunteer network of people that help out at the festival and at our other year-round events. This year the festival will have craft and merchandise vendors, fun for the kids, as well as the ever popular Taste of Ribs. A raffle prize, valued at approximately $300.00 will be drawn for those individuals buying early bird tickets.

We still have sponsorship spots available. Call Dottie Taylor 307-756-3256, Stephanie Rolfson 307-756-2740, or Bob Suchor on 307-756-3817 to be included in this opportunity.

2009

Thank You!!!

Everybody either likes to eat or has to eat, and the combination of great ribs, the cream of Wyoming music delivered by some world-class Wyoming artists: Marky B, The Cambria String Band, Jeff Troxel and Chancey Williams and The Younger Brothers, made the 1st annual Keyhole Rhythm and Ribs Festival a very special experience for locals and tourists alike. The festival drew people from the local area as well as attendees from all over North Eastern Wyoming and beyond to enjoy the festival.

Thank you to our generous sponsors for adding their support to the 2009 Keyhole Rhythm and Ribs Festival: Crook County Promotion Board, Keyhole Technologies, Keyhole Ranch, Basin Radio Network, Paintbrush Services, KBFSAM, KYDTFM, Pokey’s BarBque & Smokehouse, Victory Inc. and Larry’s Mining. The Chamber gratefully acknowledges their support.

Special thanks to our many local Chamber members and community volunteers for coming forward to help do all of the little and big things that made the festival fun and valuable for the attendees. The volunteer experience always proves challenging and rewarding.

THANK YOU to Paradise Foods and the Pine Haven Supper Club for the (and they really were) “Best in the West” ribs; the R Place for providing the beverage tent and helping, along with others, Crook County Cares with security.

As both a volunteer and attendee, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and deeply appreciated the wonderful support that our community and surrounding neighbors extended to the festival. We made lemonade!
