2012 Keyhole Winter Challenge Press Release

Pine Haven, Wyoming is again preparing for  Northeastern Wyoming's biggest winter party which promises to be an iconic event full of fun, prizes and excitement. Take a break from the winter blues and come join the 2-day challenge on January 21 and 22, 2012, which includes Cross-Country Skiing, Ice Fishing Derby, ATV Races, Dog Mushing, Ski Jouring, raffle prizes, challenge prizes, food and beverages.

The Pine Haven Chamber of Commerce decided that snow and ice were a great excuse for a winter event, so along with DESTINATION X and many other sponsors, they designed an event for several different challenge sports. The cross-country ski races will be held on Saturday and the ATV races  on Sunday. These should be two excellent spectator events with lots of excitement. Movin' On Kennels will host Dog Sled Mushing and Ski Jouring events. The Ice Fishing Derby will be both days, registration starting at 6:00am.

The Challenge kicks off at 6:00am on Saturday, January 21, with coffee, hot chocolate, donuts, and registration for Ice Fishing Derby at the R Place in Pine Haven.  For those parking on the Marina side of Keyhole, you can register at the weigh-in station on Coulter Bay. The most exciting thing about this Winter Challenge is the estimated $10,000.00 in cash and prizes (amount based on # of tickets sold). All participants registering and competing in the events must buy a $50.00 raffle ticket for a chance at prize money, the Sportsman 500SPM ATV, along with other prizes. Children 12 & under Fish & Ski for FREE w/paid adult. We will be serving chili on Saturday starting at noon. Raffle drawings and day prize money payouts will begin at 5:30pm on Saturday and 3:00pm on Sunday. Make plans to come and visit Pine Haven, participate in your favorite event and/or just enjoy the Winter Challenge.
